3 Miss Evans (Year 1)
Welcome to Year 1
We have lots of lovely things planned this term, and we are excited to share our learning journey with you.
Topic Overview
Our Autumn term theme is called "Sensoria." This is a Science and Technology driven theme focusing on light, sound, electricity and algorithms. "Sensoria" allows pupils to explore how we perceive and interpret reality through sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell, fostering a deep appreciation for diverse communication methods. The purposeful passengers for this theme are Health and Wellbeing (Mental Health) and Humanities (RVE).
At Gwaunfarren, we want our pupils to embrace their unique ways of seeing, thinking, and communicating, ensuring they grow as capable, creative individuals who thrive in an interconnected, evolving world. ‘Sensoria’ is more than a study of perception—it is a celebration of human experience, emotional intelligence, and the limitless possibilities of communication.
Below is a Knowledge Organiser which provides further information about what the children will be focusing on this term.
